6th Sunday of Easter – 5/21/17 “Paul & the unknown god”

Sermon offered on the Sixth Sunday of Easter, May 21, 2017, at Christ Episcopal Church, Fairfield, Alabama. As 21st century disciples and evangelists of Jesus, we are called to follow the Spirit of Truth, and to like Paul stand in the marketplace and listen and learn from the world around us. And to find the thing that is unknown, that gives us space to proclaim what is known. We don’t bring God to the world. The world is in God. That what you are searching for, what you were created to search for is not far off, is not bound up in material things, but what we are searching for is the God in which we live and move and have our being.

Acts 17:22-31 * Psalm 66:7-18 * 1 Peter 3:13-22 * John 14:15-21
