Sermon offered on the Fifth Sunday of Easter, May 14, 2017, at Christ Episcopal Church, Fairfield, Alabama. What do we learn about prayer from St. Stephen? What does it mean to pray in the name of Jesus? It is not that we shouldn’t pray for our own wants our needs, or needs of those that we love, but our prayer must always begin with the dedication of ourselves to Jesus and the glory of God, and that we must pray for those that we don’t want to pray for. That is what brings glory to God.
