“As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.”

“As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.” A sermon for the 7th Sunday of Easter, May 13, 2018, at Christ Episcopal Church in Fairfield, AL.

Jesus’ last act for his disciples was to pray for them — to pray as a teacher, leader, brother, and MOTHER for their protection from the evil in this world.

Tomorrow, in state capitols and Washington DC, we will gather to witness to the truth of God’s justice and to name the evil of systemic poverty, especially its effects on mothers, children, and people with disabilities.
