Kelley Hudlow

About me
I have served as the Communications Coordinator for The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama since September 2016. Prior to that I provided simple graphic design, videography, photography, website, and social media management both as part of my employment and as part of my ministry in several parishes.

I have a BA from the University of South Alabama, and a JD from The University of Alabama School Law. For ten years I was a practicing trial attorney and taught as an adjunct at The University of Alabama School of Law. In 2021, I completed the David G. Buttrick Certificate Program in Homiletic Peer Coaching at Vanderbilt Divinity School.

I was ordained a vocational deacon in October 2011, and served parishes in Fayette, Tuscaloosa, Fairfield, and Birmingham. I was ordained a priest in November 2020, and serve as supply clergy for parishes in the Diocese of Alabama.

In addition to serving as the Communications Coordinator, I am also the Coordinator for the Alabama Integrative Ministry School. In this capacity, I serve as the liaison with the Alternative Clergy Training at Sewanee, supervise the field placement program, serve as a mentor, and develop local formation programs and retreats.

I currently serve as the main designer and a content creator for the following websites:

    This is the primary website presence for the diocese and is maintained through Digital Faith utilizing Bootstrap, an open source toolkit for developing with HTML, CSS, and JS. This site was redesigned in 2017.

    This is my personal website and is maintained through WordPress.
  • Sermon Coaching sermoncoaching.com
    This is the website for those interested in homiletical coaching and retreats.

Publications

  • The Alabama Episcopalian
    The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama
    I serve as the supervising editor, which includes editing submissions and working with the art director. I also contribute articles and photography. In 2017-2018, I supervised the redesign of this publication, moving it from a bimonthly newspaper format to a quarterly magazine. This required a shift in content, moving towards long-form theologically reflective articles and a redesign of layout. I worked with Miles Parsons, the publication’s art director, to develop the new layout.
  • DioAla News Update
    The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama
    In 2016, I redesigned the semi-monthly email newsletter for The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama. This email utilizes Constant Contact.

Videos
I have provided videography for events, and video storytelling for use on social media, diocesan convention, and the website.

I have provided photography services at major diocesan events and for use on social media and the website. I have also served as the Lead Documentarian for the Alabama Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.
